CASTING NOW HAPPEN!

It Was Nice To Meet You has a full cast now and is ready to roll on October 6th. We had a great and very productive casting call arranged by the wonderful Laura Ramos who worked very hard on gathering all of the resources we needed; a big thanks goes out to her. Our production packet is due tomorrow and we have been up at all hours of the night and last night trying to get corporate for Hollywood Video to help us out. They were very helpful in the process but failed to go the extra mile and read the actual script so they would know we are shooting Cashback...not Rambo...but hey, thats corporate for ya. We are shooting at a better but more hectic location called the Stardust Cafe.

In combination with the stresses of Casting, overcoming Pre-production hurtles and basically slaving over getting a proper location in time for the shoot - we're all exhausted. Despite the onslaught of work thats still upon us, we somehow had enough time to produce this little video which clearly shows that we've all gone insane.

Location

The production team for "It Was Nice To Meet You" learned a valuable lesson in securing locations. Never depend on the "manager" of a store to give approval, especially if it is a corporate place of business. We received a verbal...yes...to shoot at a Moviestop in Waterford Lakes and when we called to confirm when he could sign the paperwork for the location agreement, we got the big middle finger. He told his "boss" and she said...NO GO....so we are currently scouting for more locations. This will be updated when we have said agreement in hand.

Update on shooting dates

Shooting dates are confirmed for October 6th, 8th and 9th.

First casting session will be September 20th at the Expo Center Downtown. A followup Call-back casting session will be held the next day (September 21st) at a location TBA.

Pre-Production

Hey guys, welcome to the blog for Cristopher Mertens' capstone film, entitled, "It Was Nice To Meet You." Cris is currently working hard with his producer Addison Bryan to create a great film and they are getting ready to lock shooting dates on Wednesday so they can continue to bring on lock crew members as well. We will keep it updated with our progress throughout the capstone course.
